If you are already planning your wedding, you already know that wedding expenses add up very quickly. I am offering some much needed tips on how to cut some of your wedding costs and still have a beautiful wedding that you and your guests will fall in love with. After all, it's not about the quantity (who can spend the most amount of money) but the quality is the important part.

{Bargains}

This one is tough, even for me. We all have that urge to see amazing bargains on the things we "think" we need and more than half the time we don't even use it. Resist the urge to bargain shop unless you have that specific need to use it for your wedding. Because believe it or not, the more bargain shopping you do, the more money that comes out of your pocket and can add up quickly. That means less money you could use on items and services you really needed.

{Keep Guest List Small}

I know what all of you are thinking, "But I really have to invite my great aunt's kids." Or my personal favorite, "my dad's co-workers!" Okay, then let me say this; how much contact do you have with these people? Are you close with them? Have you ever even met them? These are important things to consider when making your guest list. As hard as it may be, sometimes you have to think logically and fit all the important factors into place. Also, you don't need 400 people attending your wedding. Keep it simple and narrow it down to the people who matter most. It will make it more enjoyable in the end. And hey, if you have some wiggle room; you can always invite a few of dad's co-workers.

{Peak Dates}

When choosing a wedding date, you may be able to cut costs on your venue if you choose a nonpeak date. These are dates that are outside the busy season for these venues; so to boost revenue to their establishment, they offer deals. For some of you, this may not be an option as certain dates have meaning to them; so the date is set. But for those of you that have some flexibility, this would be a better option for you. Best to check with venues that you are interested in to find out what their nonpeak dates are as they may vary.

{Gift Savings}

Take advantage of seasonal sales that you see such as Post-Christmas deals or end of the year sales. This will be a great time to pick up gifts for your bridal party. You may also find some items for your out-of-town guests to put in their welcome bags. Something else to keep in mind is the "Tax Free Weekend". You will be surprised at what you will find on some attire; Grooms I'm speaking to you. You can find a great tie to add to the gift box for your Groomsmen, or some silly socks. Even superhero tees to wear under your tuxedos. And Brides...this may also ring true when buying your wedding gown. Some bridal boutiques may honor the tax free weekend, find out which one's and check out beautiful gowns that you can get for less. Saving on these things will help alleviate some of the money woes that go into having a wedding.

You will hear me say this a lot with this series, it's your wedding day not your life; plan for the future. You don't want to be paying for your wedding 10 years down the road. Save on what you can, and build your life with your spouse. Until next time, I hope you all found some helpful tips to get you start! Cheer!
